Driver

The Driver‑Kitchen Assistant will support the daily kitchen operations, food transportation, and meal distribution activities within the centre. Their responsibilities include preparing and delivering meals, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, assisting with kitchen duties, and providing classroom coverage during lunch periods. They must manage time efficiently, be reliable, and thrive in a fast-paced childcare or catering environment.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (including a 1‑hour unpaid lunch break). This totals 25 paid working hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare food bags for daily meal distribution.
• Label food bags with correct meal numbers.
• Maintain and update food diary records.
• Record and monitor food temperatures in line with food safety procedures.
• Travel to the Harrow branch to collect lunches.
• Assist the chef with packing meals and preparing food items for delivery.
• Collect groceries such as milk and fruits from the centre as required.
• Distribute lunches to all classrooms accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure allergy meals and red plates are delivered correctly to the appropriate classrooms.
• Provide classroom cover during lunch breaks when required.
• Wash and clean all containers, dishes, and kitchen equipment until 1:30 PM.
• Prepare bags for afternoon tea service after the lunch break.
• Collect tea meals and distribute them to classrooms before the end of the working day.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
• Support the smooth daily operation of the kitchen and food service activities.

Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence capable of performing transportation duties.
• Previous experience in childcare, catering, kitchen assistance, or food handling environments preferred.
• Good understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
• Organised and reliable with strong time‑management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
• Physically capable of carrying food containers and performing cleaning duties.
