Job Summary – Teaching Assistant Nursery Level 3
We are looking for a dedicated and supportive Teaching Assistant to work alongside teaching staff to deliver high‑quality learning experiences for pupils, including those with SEND. You will support individuals and small groups both in and outside the classroom, helping to implement tailored learning programmes and contribute to planning and resource preparation. The role involves promoting an inclusive, positive learning environment, supporting pupils’ development, independence, and wellbeing, and assisting with personal care where required. You will monitor progress, provide feedback, and help maintain accurate pupil records. Working closely with teachers, you will support lesson delivery, behaviour management, and the use of effective teaching strategies, including early years frameworks and ICT. You will also liaise with parents and professionals, contribute to the wider school community, and uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and equality standards. This is a varied role that may include supervising classes in the short‑term absence of a teacher, supporting extracurricular activities, and contributing to the overall ethos and success of the school.
