About the Role

  • Strategic leadership of Key Stage 2, including mentoring colleagues, overseeing curriculum delivery, and tracking progress.
  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching in Year 6 or other KS2 classes as needed.
  • Play a lead role in preparing children for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments, ensuring progress and achievement across the phase.
  • Work closely with SLT to support whole‑school initiatives, assessment and CPD planning.
  • Opportunity to take on whole‑school responsibilities and contribute to the development of teaching and learning.
  • This role has a clear progression route to Assistant Headteacher, with the timeline and development plan tailored to your experience.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with substantial KS2 experience, ideally including Year 6.
  • A proven excellent classroom practitioner, with a track record of strong pupil outcomes.
  • Confident and inspiring, with the ability to lead and support colleagues with clarity and empathy.
  • Someone who thrives on challenge and has a commitment to high expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Able to lead by example, model best practice, and drive forward the school’s vision for excellence in teaching and learning.
  • A team player with a sense of humour and a genuine love of working with children.
  • An understanding of, and respect for, the school’s ethos is essential – practising faith not required.
