Catering Supervisor Penrith Hospital

We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to work in the busy and friendly catering team at Penrith Hospital. Working hours are between 7.30 am and 6.30 pm, Monday to Sunday.
Main Duties
- Responsible for day‑to‑day operation of the catering service within the café and wards.
- Prepare food and work with the Community Catering Manager to devise menus.
- Ensure food and hygiene standards are met, adhering to all Food Safety Regulations and legislation.
- Follow HACCP and COSHH.
- Report faults and hazards to the appropriate person.
- Keep records for traceability.
- Train staff and ensure mandatory training is complete.
- Deal with any issues arising within the catering department.
- Cash up at the end of the day.
- Order food and work with the Community Catering Manager to devise menus.
- Manage stock and order from approved suppliers.
Qualifications
- Supervisory Qualification (ILM Level 3) or equivalent.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene.
- Maths and English qualifications.
- Level 3 Qualification in Food/Cooking.
- Level 3 Food Safety.
Experience
- Experience in a catering supervisory role.
- Food ordering.
- NHS experience.
Knowledge
- Food Safety Regulations.
- Equality issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
Personal Attributes
- Flexibility in working hours.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to deal with complaints or queries.
