Job Description:

We are looking for a confident Activity Co-ordinator with a passion for delivering outstanding care. This role will be working 42 hours a week across two wards as part of a rota pattern making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Elowen Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Nova Ward is our 12 bedded service providing a highly specialised eating disorder service, supporting individuals with a low BMI. We focus on supporting individuals to restore their weight to a healthy BMI, whilst providing them with the psychological support and skills to continue their recovery journey at home.

Alina Ward is our 12 bedded complex personality disorder service for those with a dual diagnosis of personality disorder and co‑morbidity disordered eating.

About us

Cygnet was established in 1988. Since then we have developed a wide range of health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well as maintaining any pre-existing hobbies.
  • Planning and implementing therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained.
  • Contributing ideas and facilitating events and activities in a safe manner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with learning disabilities.
  • Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy.
  • A creative flair and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable).
