1:1 Tutor

Overview

Omega Tutoring are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Dover and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with students aged 5-16 years old.
• Deliver sessions focused on English and Maths.
• Conduct sessions at the student’s home or local library.
• Work primarily with disengaged students who are often not on a school roll and may have behaviour or SEN difficulties, and are likely working below age‑related expectations.
• Provide up to three hours of tutoring per day, five days a week, with flexibility depending on the student’s needs; additional hours may be possible by taking on more than one case.

• Hours: Part‑time, Monday to Friday (various hours)
• Pay: £20 per hour

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS preferred but not essential if you have relevant experience.
• Minimum of degree level education.
• Experience working with students with SEN.
• Highly motivated and focused on achieving the best outcomes for every student.
• Positive attitude and desire to support learners.
• Ability to engage and motivate students while making learning fun.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Provide two professional child‑related references.
