Tesco Customer Delivery Driver – Crawley

Permanent role with working hours 10.75hrs‑31.5hrs per week. Pay starts at £14.18 per hour, increasing to £15.45 inside the M25. The minimum guaranteed hours are 16 per week, with flexibility to work as low as 12 hours.

Availability Window

Works weekdays and Saturdays from 06:30 h to 23:15 h. Your scheduled shifts will be set within these times and you will receive three weeks’ notice of exact shift dates.

Responsibilities

  • Keep van and trays clean, tidy and organised
  • Maintain a clean back yard, remove rubbish and litter when seen
  • Wash trays as part of the tray wash process
  • Load the van as required and check roadworthiness
  • Communicate with customers about order changes, short codes, substitutions and refunds
  • Handle products and deliveries with care, as if they were your own
  • Explain substitution charges to customers (no extra cost)
  • Deliver during the customer’s time slot
  • Call the customer before arrival if early
  • Notify the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late

  • Build teamwork relationships to enhance customer service quality
  • Be warm, welcoming and attentive toward customers and colleagues
  • Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the team
  • Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work
  • Share ideas for improving customer experience with managers and colleagues
  • Hold a UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points
  • Adhere to GB Domestic Driving Rules
