Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may also choose to work as few as 12 hours.
The schedule will be set within the availability windows above, giving you at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. We also support flexibility; if you can work close to these times but not exactly, we would still love to hear from you.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Customer Delivery Driver you will meet and talk to customers in their homes every day, delivering more than just goods – you help others and provide great service with a smile.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the van and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
- Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish; pick up litter when you see it.
- Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required and check it for roadworthiness.
- Talk to the customer about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions; offer a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
- Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any more for their substitutions.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving if they are early.
- Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make the store the best it can be for customers.
- Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say “Thank you.”
- Act quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embrace change within the store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a suitable balance.
- Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve the store for customers.
- Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
