Reception Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31
  • Weekly Pay: 500 – 525
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (term time only)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-term (Temp-to-Perm)

Long Term Futures is seeking a Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. This role involves working 1:1 with a child with SEMH and behavioural needs, alongside supporting whole-class learning, delivering small group interventions, and leading phonics sessions using Little Wandle and other phonics programmes.

This is a long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting a pupil 1:1 with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Supporting whole-class teaching and learning
  • Delivering targeted small group interventions
  • Leading phonics sessions (Little Wandle and other phonics programmes)
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN

What the School is Looking For

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a primary setting
  • Skills: Experience supporting SEMH and behaviour, delivering phonics and leading interventions
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum & phonics programmes (desirable)
