We are currently working on behalf of a welcoming and supportive rural primary school in North Yorkshire, whose most recent Ofsted inspection was graded ‘Good’. They are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026.
This is a fixed term role for one academic year, supporting teaching and learning within a Nursery and Reception class. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small and friendly school community that places a strong emphasis on nurturing children, creating positive relationships and providing engaging learning experiences for all pupils.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within the Nursery and Reception classroom
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support development and progress
- Help to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment
- Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
- Work closely alongside the class teacher and wider staff team
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
Candidate Qualifications
- Has experience working with young children, ideally within an Early Years setting
- Is caring, patient and nurturing in their approach
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Is enthusiastic, flexible and happy to get involved in all aspects of school life
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
