Nursery Assistant

A fabulous primary school in the London Borough of Barnet is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from the May half‑term. This is a full‑time, term‑time only opportunity, working Monday to Friday from 8:15am to 3:45pm. The successful candidate must be available to commit for the remainder of the academic year, with a strong possibility of the position continuing into September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children within the Nursery classroom on a daily basis
• Assisting with the delivery of creative and engaging EYFS activities
• Promoting positive behaviour, communication, and social interaction
• Providing targeted support for pupils’ learning and development
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support colleagues
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive Early Years setting

The Ideal Nursery Teaching Assistant Will Have

• Previous experience working within a Nursery or Early Years setting
• Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum
• A positive, energetic, and patient approach to supporting young learners
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for Early Years education
