Job Overview

School Domestic Operatives – Horsham, West Sussex.

Salary: £12.71 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning Boarding Houses – Monday to Friday 8:00‑16:00 with a 1‑hour unpaid break (52 weeks). Optional earlier start at 6:30.
• Laundry – Monday to Friday 8:00‑16:00 with a 45‑minute unpaid break (52 weeks). Optional earlier start at 6:30.
• Weekend Domestic Operatives – Saturday or Sunday or both, 8‑hour shifts, predominantly 8:00‑16:00 including an unpaid 1‑hour break; flexible start and finish times.

The role may be required to undertake tasks across other areas within Housekeeping and associated teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of cleaning in a residential school, commercial or school environment is helpful, although not essential.
• Capability to work standing, cover large distances and flights of stairs on foot.
• Physical ability to bend, twist and pull/push cleaning equipment.
