Static Technical Operative (Multiskilled)

Croydon

£44,000 per annum

Static Technical Operative needed for a large well known Facilities Management organisation in Croydon who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Static Technical Operative that takes pride in their work.

The successful candidate will deliver both electrical planned preventative maintenance and reactive tasks. They may also be required to support wider general maintenance tasks and therefore must have experience as a multi‑skilled engineer.

What the role entails

  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and highlight areas where improvements can be made.
  • Maintain suitable consumables to carry out both maintenance and reactive works and provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork/CAFM for planned and reactive activities and pass it without delay to the contract administrator.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractor works on site, covering electrical and all FM related tasks.
  • Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover on short notice and exhibit flexibility in working patterns.
  • Undertake lone working when required and where suitable, after satisfactory training.
  • Action and complete all assigned tasks appropriately.

What experience you need

  • A recognised electrical engineering qualification (essential).
  • 18th Edition wiring Regulations (essential).
  • City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 (desirable).
  • Obtain AP status within 3 months (ENGIE LV rules).
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Experienced fault‑finding skills in control, lighting and power systems.
  • Experience in a leisure/public venue environment.
  • IPAF certified for 3a & 3b machines (desirable).
  • Experience in BMS fault finding is an advantage.
  • Understanding of L8 ACOP (desirable).
  • Robust understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of the Permit to Work system and experience issuing PTW (desirable).
  • Effective communication with customers at site level.
  • Compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable tasks to support the account and business.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads.
  • Ensure compliance with contract KPIs and SLAs with the support of the Engineering Supervisor.
