Ward Clerk – Ward B2

We now have a vacancy for a full time Ward Clerk to work on Ward B2 at Salford Royal Hospital.
You will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward/unit staff, ensure the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients, and support the smooth running of the ward/department office.
Responsibilities include:
- General clerical duties as required within the department.
- Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained, and up to date.
- Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS) in line with Trust procedures and policies.
- Commitment to providing a high‑quality patient‑focused service.
- Provide general non‑clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.
- Deliver and collect patient’s case notes, and if applicable x-rays and investigation results from various locations throughout the hospital.
- Accurately file reports, notes & results efficiently.
- Ensure all ordering for the unit is completed timely whilst always considering the financial impact on the unit.
- Accurately process, record, store and maintain patient information on the relevant in‑house IT systems.
- Accurately organise and communicate to patients using appropriate means.
- Provide typing and photocopying support within the Day Case team.
Qualifications
- English Language GCSE (or equivalent) C or above.
- Maths GCSE (or equivalent) C or above.
- I.T GCSE (or equivalent) C or above.
Experience
- Previous experience using IT applications such as Microsoft.
- Previous experience with NHS systems.
- Previous experience as a Ward Clerk/Receptionist.
