Job Title: Day Bakery Operative

Location: Ascot Drive Bakery, DE24 8GN, Derby

Hours: 45 hours per week, Day shift starting at 5:00am, required to work 1 in 5 Saturdays.

Salary: £12.71 to £14.21.

Purpose: We are looking for a full‑time baker to join our Day Bakery Team at our Ascot Drive Bakery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for baking who enjoys working in a busy bakery environment and takes pride in producing high‑quality products.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and prepare ingredients accurately for bakery production.
• Operate bakery machinery, including mixing, baking, and packing equipment.
• Assist with the production of a variety of bakery products.
• Ensure products are prepared and presented to high quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised workspace while adhering to strict food hygiene and safety guidelines.
• Work efficiently to ensure dispatch deadlines are met.

Experience

• Good knowledge and understanding of bakery machinery and handcrafted baking processes.
• Ability to produce bakery items efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Pastry and confectionery skills such as piping and decorating would be highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a fast‑paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous bakery experience preferred.
• Training will be provided for suitable applicants.
