POLING OPERATIVE

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for Poling Operatives to join our West Wales. As a Poling Operative, you will be responsible for installation and removal of poles, including dressing new poles covering the West Wales region. This is an entry-level position and all training will be provided. Training is paid at rates between £90 – £105 per day. All pay rates will be discussed via telephone. This is a subcontracting opportunity. The course date will start on 23rd February 2026.

Pay

£90.00-£650.00 per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Replace decayed, damaged, or defective poles in the Openreach network
• Install new poles to support customer connections
• Ensure all work meets client specifications and safety standards
• Maintain driving standards and legal compliance
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and company/client policies

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure
• Professional communication skills
• Organised, self-motivated, and achievement-oriented
• Basic computer literacy

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working in the Openreach network
• Groundworks or civils experience
• IPAF 1B
• NPORS N107 or equivalent
• Full NRSWA Streetworks operative-level qualification
• 360 Excavator operation
• PASMA certification
