Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting Refuse Loaders and Waste Operatives for ongoing work with a local authority in Eckington.
This is a physically demanding outdoor role suited to candidates who enjoy hands‑on work, staying active, and working as part of a team delivering essential public services.
The Role
Collecting household waste and recycling bins along set routes
Loading refuse and recycling into collection vehicles
Working as part of a refuse collection crew
Supporting street cleansing and environmental services when required
Manual handling and heavy lifting throughout the shift
Walking long distances daily in all weather conditions
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in labouring, warehouse, waste, recycling, or outdoor work preferred
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Safety boots and high-vis required
Full UK Driving Licence preferred, as you may occasionally be required to work from another depot in Chesterfield
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday
6:30am – 3:00pm
£12.71 per hour
Increasing to £13.05 after 13 weeks’ service
Weekly pay
Ongoing, full-time work
