Job overview
The Ward Clerk is an integral part of the ward team on A3 Wythenshawe Hospital. You will provide comprehensive clerical support, ensuring high standards and timely completion of tasks in collaboration with the MDT.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with patients’ relatives to provide updates and act as liaison.
- Facilitate the admission of patients onto the ward.
- Update records in the HIVE system.
- Answer and respond to phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Order relevant paperwork and stationery.
- Operate within established policies, procedures and guidelines, and contribute to improvements in working practice.
Main duties of the job
Work flexibly in a customer‑service driven environment. Coordinate with Consultants, doctors and nurses to ensure patients receive quality care. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications
- Good level of general education.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Maintain a calm, courteous and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of PAS and ICE.
- Experience with Microsoft Access Database.
Experience
- Customer service experience.
- Administration experience.
- Experience working in a busy environment.
