Role Overview


The Warehouse Operative/Driver is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of warehouse and fleet-related activities, including goods receipt and dispatch, stock control, and local deliveries. The role also supports fleet maintenance coordination, reporting, and system updates, ensuring all materials and records are maintained accurately and in line with company and regulatory requirements.

Authority & Accountability


The Warehouse Operative/Driver is accountable for supporting the safe, efficient and compliant operation of warehouse and fleet logistics activities, including goods receipt and dispatch, stock control, and local deliveries, in line with company procedures and applicable health & safety standards. The role is authorised to handle, transport and record materials, equipment and fleet spares, and to identify, report and escalage discrepancies, defects or safety concerns, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken and records remain accurate within systems such as ShipSure. The role contributes to operational continuity, effective stock management, regulatory compliance and the safe delivery of services.


Key Responsibilities


Warehouse & Logistics Operations



  • Receive, check, and dispatch goods in line with company procedures

  • Load and unload deliveries and collections safely and efficiently

  • Operate a 2.5-ton counterbalance forklift in accordance with training and safety standards

  • Carry out manual handling and general warehouse duties as required

  • Complete local deliveries and collections using company vehicles

  • Record and verify stock movements using internal computer systems

  • Ensure all delivery and dispatch documentation is accurate and completed on time

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment


Stock Control & Fleet Spares



  • Maintain stock levels of fleet spares

  • Inspect and maintain all spares received, verifying quantities and quality

  • Maintain and update the Fleet Warehouse maintenance module

  • Update and maintain accurate information within ShipSure


General Responsibilities



  • Adhere to all company health & safety policies and procedures at all times

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management

  • Warehouse-based role with regular manual handling

  • Requirement to drive company vehicles for local deliveries

  • Use of forklift and warehouse equipment


Qualifications and Experience (Essential)



  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence (minimum 2.5 ton)

  • Full, clean UK driving licence

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, or logistics environment

  • Ability to undertake manual handling and physical tasks safely

  • Basic computer skills for stock control, reporting, and system updates

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team


Desirable



  • Experience working with fleet or marine spare parts

  • Familiarity with ShipSure or similar maintenance/stock systems

  • Experience supporting vessel maintenance or reporting processes
