The Avenue Cookery School is a family‑run gem tucked away in a charming Wandsworth kitchen. Led by Diana and her children Sophie and Richard. Diana and Rich head up the kitchen, while Sophie runs the business side of things. Our mission is to teach people of all ages and abilities to truly understand food – all while having a blast!
We’re on the lookout for like‑minded, English‑speaking Photography Volunteers to join us and capture our classes. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to practice and improve their food and portrait photography skills in a lively, event‑based setting while building their portfolio.
What the role involves:
Attending our classes and photographing all aspects: food, people, and the space. Arriving slightly before participants to get set‑up, and being ready to take photos from start to finish, capturing the final results – often everyone enjoying the dishes they’ve created at the table. Editing and sending the photos to us for marketing and promotional purposes. You’ll be credited on our popular social media when your work is used.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Efficient, reliable, and shows initiative.
- Flexible with class schedules and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment (classes can have up to 28 participants).
- Confident asking participants if you can photograph them and their food.
- Photographic experience with your own camera and equipment.
- Laid‑back, friendly, and loves capturing genuine moments.
- Open to taking constructive feedback for future classes.
Additional information:
Hours are dependent on our class schedule (weekdays, evenings, weekends), and we can be flexible with which classes you work on. Formal qualifications are not required but photography experience is essential.
