Children’s Services Worker (Saturdays)
Salary
£25,949.00 per annum (pro-rata) which is £5,595.20 per annum (£13.45 an hour).
Location
Aylesbury, High Wycombe and surrounding areas in Buckinghamshire. You will be working in different locations so access to your own transport is a must. Mileage will be paid.
Contract
Annualised – Part Time, 8 hours a week – Saturdays only. Typical shift can be 08:45 to 17:15.

About the service
We are Bucks Activity Project, one of over 400 services in the Action for Children family. We are passionate about providing community short breaks to children with disabilities and additional needs for children aged 0‑19. We provide activities and sessions on Saturdays, school holidays and in our evening youth clubs. Every child has the opportunity to have fun, build skills and promote independence at their pace, supported by a welcoming, responsive and fun team!

Responsibilities
As a Children’s Services Worker, you will work inside a team delivering interventions to children and young people in a group setting, with appropriate direction. You will take responsibility for the safety, care and engagement of children, instilling a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring each child is supported to achieve the best outcomes. You will support children by providing personal care and encouraging them to access a wide range of activities to meet their individual needs and interests including arts and crafts, sensory play, cooking, team games, outdoor play and life‑skills enhancement. You will also engage, have fun and interact with children participating in community activities such as climbing, water sports, go‑karting and visits to local farms and parks.
Qualifications
Experience working with children and part of a team to support children and young people is desirable, but you do not need previous qualifications. We ask for a positive attitude, a desire to give the best care and an understanding of safeguarding and effective communication. Experience in childcare, babysitting, volunteering in a nursery or early years environment, or a room leader, or caring for a sibling or child with a learning disability is welcomed.
Please note that all our positions require an Enhanced DBS check in relation to children and adults.
