An exciting opportunity has arisen for a cleaner to join our committed and friendly team at Blandford Hospital.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in clinical and non‑clinical areas throughout Blandford Hospital and for ensuring that a clean, safe, and comfortable environment is maintained for patients and visitors.

This post is 20 hours per week over 5 days, 4pm to 8pm/4.30pm to 8.30pm daily. On‑site training and uniform are provided.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

Main duties

  • Provide an effective, patient‑focused cleaning and domestic service, meeting NHS cleanliness standards at a minimum.
  • Perform high and low level dusting, cleaning of toilets, hand basins, vacuuming and mopping of floors, and cleaning of clinical & non‑clinical areas.
  • Remove and rehanging curtains and maintain the National Cleaning Standards.

DBS and Disclosures

Employment requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.

Person Specification

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Level 2 in Housekeeping or working towards.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

Finance & Resources

  • Knowledge of Stock Control procedures and methods.

Information Technology / Resources

  • Basic IT skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrate skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively.
