An exciting opportunity has arisen for a cleaner to join our committed and friendly team at Blandford Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in clinical and non‑clinical areas throughout Blandford Hospital and for ensuring that a clean, safe, and comfortable environment is maintained for patients and visitors.
This post is 20 hours per week over 5 days, 4pm to 8pm/4.30pm to 8.30pm daily. On‑site training and uniform are provided.

Main duties
- Provide an effective, patient‑focused cleaning and domestic service, meeting NHS cleanliness standards at a minimum.
- Perform high and low level dusting, cleaning of toilets, hand basins, vacuuming and mopping of floors, and cleaning of clinical & non‑clinical areas.
- Remove and rehanging curtains and maintain the National Cleaning Standards.
DBS and Disclosures
Employment requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
Person Specification
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Level 2 in Housekeeping or working towards.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role.
Finance & Resources
- Knowledge of Stock Control procedures and methods.
Information Technology / Resources
- Basic IT skills.
Additional Requirements
- Demonstrate skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively.
