Trainee Bus Driver £12.71 – £19.35 per hour

Pay

• During Training (first 4‑6 weeks) – £12.71 per hour
• After Training – up to 6 months service – £13.67 per hour
• After Training – 9+ months service – £16.85 per hour
• Weekends – £14.67 rising to £17.85 after 9+ months service
• Overtime – £13.67 rising to £17.86 after 9+ months service
• Weekend & BH Overtime – £14.67 rising to £19.35 after 9+ months service

Responsibilities

• Drive the bus safely along the assigned routes, adhering to timetables and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service, greeting passengers and ensuring their comfort.
• Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and report any mechanical issues.
• Build positive relationships with passengers and become a valued part of the community.
• Work closely with a mentor during the final weeks of training.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• UK driving licence with a minimum of 6 months driving experience.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test and an English comprehension test.
• Excellent people skills and flexibility to work shifts as early as 4am and no later than 1am.

Working Hours

A rotating shift pattern of 5 days in 7, published up to 6‑8 weeks in advance. Mornings start from 04:00, Afternoons from 12:00 and Evenings from 18:00.
