Kopek Security & Facilities Ltd is a national provider of manned and canine assisted security services. As a company, we consistently strive to deliver a high standard of service.

Due to new and existing contracts, we are looking for a number of compliant Detection Dog Handler Teams for sites in and around London (within the ULEZ zone).

Successful handlers will work alongside their own specially trained dog to detect drugs and ensure safety and security on site. They must be compliant with British Standards, conduct random dog patrols of the site and carry out any other duties as instructed.

Handlers are expected to maintain high levels of proficiency with their canine teammate through regular training and improvements, and to uphold a high standard of animal welfare and care at all times.

Hours of Work

  • Shifts are usually six hours (minimum) depending on the site.

Rates of Pay

  • £30.00 PAYE

Handler Requirements

  • Exemplary work ethics, positive attitude, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Conduct thorough searches as indicated by site instructions and client requests.
  • Respond promptly to site activations.
  • Perform routine and random searches at gates and public areas.
  • Identify security risks and take appropriate action.
  • Complete incident reports to a high standard and ensure regular communication with the operations support teams.
  • Genuine understanding of the canine partner’s needs and welfare.
  • A valid frontline SIA badge.
  • Valid team certificate (NASDU, NTIPDU or BIPDT).
  • Continuation training (CT) records.
  • A suitable dog of detection breed.
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to work 20 hours or more a week.
  • Professional, presentable appearance with excellent communication skills.
  • Smart black uniform and boots with clean hi‑vis/tactical vest.

All applicants will be screened and vetted to BS 8517 and BS 7858.
