Our brand new Children’s Home is recruiting for Waking Night Support Workers now!
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and you will be required to be alert and observant at all times. In addition to regular checks on the children and young people you will be assigned additional tasks.
Based in the picturesque market town of Frome, our children’s home will provide nurturing and support for children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, mental health challenges, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and learning disabilities. The overall focus of the home is to achieve positive outcomes for young people, we do this through multi agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments.
Responsibilities
- Support our young people during waking nights and remain alert and observant at all times.
- Carry out regular checks on the children and young people and complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Contribute to multi-agency working, personalised care planning and creating positive attachments.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Resilience — we support some of the most vulnerable children who may have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and related challenges.
- Communication — effective communication with our young people is vital to understand their needs; good teamwork and information sharing with staff is essential.
- Organisation — confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information relevant to care.
- Caring — a naturally caring and compassionate approach is essential.
- Attentive — being attentive to understand each young person and identify how we can support is important and requires alertness in any situation.
