Volunteer Peer Mentor — Trauma‑Informed Community Support

Role Overview

Phoenix Futures Services in Essex recruit, train and develop peer mentor volunteers to support and engage people who use our services in a holistic and trauma‑informed approach.

Services we run in Essex

• Futures Together (Criminal Justice and Social Inclusion services)
• Essex Liaison and Diversion.
• Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT).
• Drug and Alcohol Street Support (DASS).
• Phoenix Housing and Supported Tenancy (HoSTs).
• ESAT service

Purpose of the Role

• Support with the running and delivery of services.
• Support with the running and facilitation of groups.
• Provide support and encouragement to people accessing community services and activities.
• Use lived experience and knowledge to help design and co‑produce services and support new initiatives.
• Offer one-to‑one peer mentoring to service users who have been referred for this support where appropriate.
