Band 2 Housekeeper – Devizes

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff by cleaning all ward and departmental areas.
• Prepare, present, and serve patient meals and beverages.
• Work flexibly to meet ward and patient needs and maintain a controlled, systematic approach in a potentially distracting environment.
• Follow NHS cleaning specifications, including National Standards of Cleanliness, CQC outcomes, PLACE, and local schedules.
• Clean service user bedrooms, communal areas, sanitary areas, clinic rooms, kitchens, offices, and corridors.
• Replenish disposable items such as paper hand towels and soap.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures: COSHH and manual handling.
• Receive chilled meals and stores; check quantity and quality, sign goods received, and record temperatures.
• Report unacceptable temperatures to the Hotel Services Supervisor.
• Ensure correct storage and rotation of chilled meals and stores.
• Regenerate chilled/frozen meals per food safety instructions.
• Under nursing supervision serve all meals, ensuring correct portioning and presentation.
• Monitor and record food, fridge, and freezer temperatures; take remedial action as required.
• Wash all crockery, cutlery, and utensils by machine.
