Bartender

Henley Regatta – Monday 29th June to Sunday 5th July 2026

£13.65 per hour

Regatta is a six‑day event set in the grounds of Phyllis Court Club on the banks of the River Thames. We have a number of bars and restaurants open at the Club during the event including our Ballroom restaurant and conservatory, the Pimm’s and Champagne Bar, the Members Bar and Lounge, the Regatta Bar, The Riverside Pavilion, and the Orangery and Thames Room.

This role is versatile; you could be serving fine wines and champagne, making up jugs of Pimm’s, pouring beer or mixing a gin and tonic. The role is very hands‑on, so a can‑do, proactive approach is essential.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be available for the full 7‑day period from 29th June to 5th July 2026 (shifts early 08:00 to midnight).

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and assist customers at the event.
  • Bar experience required.
  • Use a point‑of‑sale system.
  • Assist as necessary with movement of equipment or materials during set up and break down.
  • Ensure the health and well‑being of all customers.
  • Use communication equipment, if required, in accordance with Phyllis Court guidelines.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times whilst representing Phyllis Court Club.

Qualities, Skills and Behaviours You Will Need

  • Ability to lift, carry and stand on your feet for 8–10 hours each day.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Bar experience required.
  • Ability to work long hours.
  • Ability to work as a team in a public‑facing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ensure a smart image and appearance at all times, adhering to the standards of dress policy.
  • Ability to make balanced decisions and keep calm in an emergency situation.
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision.

Uniform Requirements

Black trousers, white dress shirt or blouse, black socks and sensible black shoes for the duration of the Regatta.

All candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence of this in line with government guidance. Successful completion of probationary period is also subject to satisfactory DBS disclosure and references.
