Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Receptionist role based in Chatham. The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for members and guests, warmly greeting arrivals, managing check-ins, and answering questions about services, schedules, and amenities.

Daily responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls, responding to email inquiries, and maintaining a tidy, welcoming front desk and lobby area. The role also involves scheduling appointments, processing payments, updating member information, and supporting membership sign-ups and renewals.

The Receptionist will collaborate with coaches and wellness staff to coordinate bookings, relay messages, and help ensure a smooth, professional experience for all members.

Qualifications

  • Strong Customer Service and Communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with diverse members and guests.
  • Proficiency in core Receptionist Duties and Phone Etiquette, including managing multi-line phones, greeting visitors, and handling inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Solid Clerical Skills, such as scheduling, data entry, basic record keeping, and using office or booking software.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism, with a polished and welcoming presence at the front desk.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, fitness, wellness, or a membership-based environment is beneficial.
  • Comfort using basic computer applications (e.g. email, calendars, spreadsheets); experience with membership or CRM systems is a plus.
