Machine Learning Engineer

Quantcast is a leading AI‑powered advertising technology company headquartered in San Francisco, offering solutions that help marketers reach audiences and deliver measurable outcomes.

The Machine Learning team builds and maintains real‑time ML products used to predict audience attributes across millions of bid requests per second.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and debug ML applications and continuously improve large‑scale global systems that respond to millions of real‑time requests per second with efficiency.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product and platform engineering teams, participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system components for enhanced scalability.
• Generate and review proposals for further research and development directions.
• Keep up to date with developments in machine learning outside the company.

Requirements

• Newly or recently qualified university graduate with a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Fluency in Python, Java or a similar programming language.
• Strong skills in mathematics and statistics.
• Exposure to ML algorithms such as classification, control systems, optimization, clustering, LLMs or recommendation systems.
• Interest in distributed systems and software design, concurrent algorithms, data structures, and software engineering.
