The post holder will have overall responsibility for the Administration team and support the service to see the right patients, at the right time, in the right place. As Administrative Line Manager, the post holder will have overall responsibility for the administration staff for Endoscopy (Eastern), alongside ensuring effective and efficient processes are in place. We are looking for a candidate who can organise and motivate the team, and provide leadership to ensure practices are efficient to reduce waiting lists and get patients seen on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Team management
- Ensure all staff are managed appropriately and within parameters set by the Operations team.
- Support and motivate the administrative workforce.
- Effective and efficient service
- Ensure the administrative service is appropriately resourced and the work is closely aligned to the needs of the department and the Trust’s strategic direction.
- Ensure that administrative services function effectively, e.g. Endoscopy lists are fully utilised.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with relevant policies/procedures, e.g. Endoscopy Booking Standard Operating Procedures.
- Patient care
- Provide excellent patient care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives.
- Ensure information is secure and confidentiality is maintained.
- Improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators, e.g. urgent suspected cancer patients and six‑week wait diagnostic targets.
- Support the units becoming JAG accredited by ensuring the admin teams meet required standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and share knowledge.
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday (30 hours)
