Workshop Engineer

Materials Handling

Location: KetteringSalary: £30,(Apply online only) £38,(Apply online only) DOE + Overtime + BenefitsHours: Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday Friday)

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Multi‑Skilled Workshop Engineer to join a well‑established and growing engineering business.

In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of materials handling equipment and plant machinery within a busy workshop environment. You will work as part of a skilled engineering team and report directly to the Workshop Manager.

This is a hands‑on workshop‑based role offering stability, technical variety, and opportunities for ongoing development within a supportive, family‑oriented business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair materials handling and powered access equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Replace or repair faulty components as required
  • Prepare equipment for customer delivery and inspections
  • Complete planned maintenance and workshop repair tasks efficiently
  • Work closely with the Workshop Manager & Service Team to prioritise and complete workloads
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with Health & Safety regulations
  • Complete relevant job documentation and adhere to company procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean, safe workshop environment
  • Continuously develop your technical skills through training and hands‑on experience

About You

  • Experience working as a Workshop Engineer, Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer, or similar role
  • Multi‑skilled with strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding abilities
  • Experience working on materials handling equipment, forklifts, plant, or powered access equipment
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work to deadlines while maintaining high standards
  • Committed to Health & Safety compliance
