Lead Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer (Contract) – Location: Leatherhead, UK (On-site) – Duration: 12 months+.

The role

We’re seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support a major onshore oil & gas project. You’ll lead electrical engineering scope through design and delivery, interfacing across disciplines and ensuring safe, compliant execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle (FEED/detail design/execution as applicable)
• Own technical assurance for electrical design packages (specs, datasheets, studies, calculations, layouts)
• Coordinate with multidiscipline engineering and project stakeholders to manage interfaces and priorities
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety requirements, and project procedures
• Support reviews, vendor coordination, and technical queries through to completion

Required experience

• Proven experience in electrical engineering within oil & gas / energy projects (onshore preferred)
• Strong leadership capability (package ownership, checking/review, stakeholder management)
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes/standards (project-dependent)
• Ability to work on-site in Leatherhead and collaborate with a fast-paced project team
