Quantity Surveyor – Yorkshire

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Yorkshire team, delivering high-spec commercial fit‑out and refurbishment projects across the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS who enjoys being heavily involved across the full project lifecycle – not just cost management. The business is looking for a strong all‑rounder with the ability to work at pace within a fast‑moving Tier 1 fit‑out environment.

Salary & Package

£70,000 – £85,000 DOE

Responsibilities

• Pricing and tendering projects
• Cost planning and budgeting
• Managing client contracts and subcontract packages
• Negotiating subcontractor packages and monthly valuations
• Managing variations and applications for payment
• Challenging design against budget constraints
• Identifying commercial risk and finding practical solutions
• Protecting and maximising project margins throughout delivery

Qualities & Experience

• Commercial fit‑out or refurbishment experience
• Strong contract knowledge, including JCT
• Excellent negotiation and commercial skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects within fast‑paced environments
• Strong attention to detail and commercial instinct
• Experience working closely with both operational and pre‑construction teams
• Suitable for someone from either a Tier 1 background or a smaller contractor where wider commercial exposure has been gained across projects
