Behaviour Support Worker – Leeds | September 2026 Start

Full-Time | Primary & Secondary Schools | Behaviour & Pastoral Support

Milk Education is recruiting Behaviour Support Workers to work within schools across Leeds from September 2026.

This rewarding role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:

  • Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or barriers to learning
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom to maximise engagement and achievement

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, or similar settings
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, resilient, and patient approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships quickly
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed

Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
