Within the Highways Maintenance Team we are looking for an enthusiastic, customer‑focused and experienced person to join the Service, delivering highways safety inspections and investigating enquiries received from members of the public.
The successful applicant will support the implementation of service improvements and excellent customer care, working within a team to achieve required performance targets. You will be based at Willington Highways Depot and work closely with technicians and engineers, under a supportive manager who is keen to facilitate your development.
Responsibilities
- Undertake routine and ad‑hoc risk‑based inspections of the road network.
- Record and issue repairs to be undertaken on the road network.
- Provide technical advice and support on highways maintenance activities.
- Respond to enquiries from customers and service users.
Qualifications
- Technical and practical problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in highway inspections, or a related area where these skills are transferable.
- Understanding of highway‑related legislation and responsibilities.
- Ability to keep accurate records.
- Full driving licence.
