Job Purpose

The Technician role involves conducting a wide range of structural investigations and testing procedures to support client projects. Technicians ensure accurate data collection and contribute to the smooth execution of site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and investigations, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), coring, and Schmidt hammer tests.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations on‑site.
• Collaborate with engineers and site managers to achieve project goals.
• Record and report field data for further analysis.
• Mentor Trainee Technicians where applicable.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in operating testing equipment.
• Experience working in field-based environments.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong interest in civil engineering and field operations.
• Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Full UK driving license.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment or site operations.
• Certifications in NDT or related techniques.
• Experience with data entry and report preparation.

This role is very much open to an enthusiastic person most likely from a construction background who is open to a new opportunity. The salary range is £28000 to £32000 for this immediate start.
