Facilities Assistant – Domestic
The closing date is 17 May 2026.
Location: Withington Community Hospital, with possible support at Intermediate Care Units (Buccleuch Lodge, Willow Bank Lodge, Dermot Murphy).
Schedule: Monday‑Friday 16:30‑20:00. Candidates may also be required to work on bank holidays, including Christmas.
This role is a domestic cleaning position; it does not involve nursing duties.
Responsibilities:
• Provision of cleaning services within a hospital/healthcare environment, working closely with ward/department staff to ensure a high‑quality service.
• Support other facilities services such as catering, linen, and portering to ensure seamless delivery of facilities services.

Qualifications
- Good written and spoken English and ability to do basic maths.
- GCSE Maths and English.
- Cleaning training qualifications.
- Customer care training qualifications.
- Basic food hygiene level 2 certificate.
Knowledge
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions to set specifications.
- Understanding and awareness of confidentiality.
- Good knowledge of food safety.
Training and Experience
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Experience of working within a healthcare environment.
- Previous experience in a similar post.
Skills and Abilities
- Able to adapt to meet service needs.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Attributes
- Ability to work within a team without constant supervision, utilising own initiative.
