Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Stalybridge

Package

  • 45,000 – 50,000 Expected Earnings
  • Week 1 Monday – Friday (6AM-2PM) Week 2 Monday – Friday (12PM-8PM)
  • 28 Days Annual Leave
  • Overtime available at x1.5 (30 p/h)
  • Full training on the plant

The Role

Working double days, the successful candidate will carry out electrical maintenance across plastic moulding machinery and powder manufacturing equipment.

Machinery

Plastic moulding machinery, extruders, powder manufacturing machinery, mixers, conveyors, pulverisers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics, Siemens PLCs.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance on plastic moulding machinery, extruders and powder manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in a 1-in-3 on call rota, providing out of hours engineering support when required.
  • Perform fault‑finding and diagnostics on industrial electrical systems to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose issues with Siemens PLC systems, AC/DC motors, drives and variable speed drives.
  • Maintain conveyors, material handling systems and process equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Service sensors, relays, contactors, control circuits and industrial instrumentation.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and respond to reactive maintenance.
  • Undertake general maintenance and repair work across the site as required.

Entry Requirements

  • City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, ideally gained through a recognised apprenticeship.
  • 5+ years as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Engineer or Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing.
  • Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, inverters and variable speed drives.
  • Knowledge of conveyors, material handling systems and process equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with sensors, relays, contactors and industrial instrumentation.
