Reporting to the Maintenance Officer, the maintenance team ensures that we have a clean and well‑maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas
  • Compliance with Health and Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting of H&S incidents
  • Carry out day‑to‑day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents
  • Ensure that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the Home Manager and residents

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair work
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate Health and Safety awareness through discussion
  • Commitment to sharing our values and demonstrating them at all times
  • “Can‑Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently
