We are looking for a Women’s Support Worker from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to deliver direct practical support interventions for Sacro’s Aditi Women’s Wellbeing Service in partnership with Multi Cultural Family Base (MCFB).
Qualifications
- Experience of cross-cultural work.
- Effective communicator in English and at least one other language commonly spoken in Scotland’s BAME communities.
- Highly organised with effective casework management skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct support and mentoring interventions to BAME women affected by domestic abuse and Honour-based Violence (HBV).
- Maintain accurate case notes.
- Operate within the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Strategy and Sacro’s policies and procedures, escalating safety/well-being concerns related to adult and child protection to the Service Co-ordinator/Service Manager.
- Monitor women’s well-being throughout their journey within the service and make appropriate follow-on referrals to relevant services.
- Organise, deliver and participate in group community activities.
Requirements
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is required.
- Applicants must be female.
