Job Description:

The University of Cambridge Research Office is seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our Professional Services team at the heart of the University’s research activity. Research Services supports academics and professional colleagues across the full research lifecycle, enabling world¿leading research to thrive. Strong, dependable business support is central to that mission, ensuring teams operate smoothly, consistently and with resilience.

We welcome applications from those early in their professional services career as well as those with existing administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Providing day to day administrative and business support to one or more research support teams
  • Coordinating meetings, tracking actions and maintaining clear, accurate records
  • Supporting team processes, deadlines and workflows so work runs efficiently and reliably
  • Acting as a first point of contact for queries, using judgement to resolve issues or escalates as appropriate
  • Working confidently with systems, documents and data, ensuring information is handled accurately and professionally
  • Contributing to shared cover and supporting service continuity across the Business Support function

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational skills and a reliable, methodical approach to work
  • Confidence working with processes, systems and deadlines in a busy environment
  • Good judgement, attention to detail and a willingness to take responsibility for seeing tasks through
  • Clear, professional communication and the ability to work effectively with a range of colleagues
  • An interest in being part of a service focused team that values consistency, quality and collaboration
