Policy and Projects Advisor – University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

The Policy and Projects Adviser is a senior role within the Shelford Group team. It requires strong intellectual and interpersonal skills with a recognition of the importance of member engagement and support.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Taking ownership of central support for key Shelford Group sub‑groups
  • Responsibility for driving forward agreed strategic work programmes, providing direction and coordinating collaboration between Shelford Group trusts
  • Developing policy thinking in areas of shared interest including specialised services, research and innovation, the future provider landscape, and the shift to neighbourhood working
  • Playing an active role across the Shelford Group team, for example in preparing our annual impact report and shaping the agenda for our annual event

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of UK health policy and political landscape

Experience

  • Leadership experience with a clearly demonstrated track record for getting the best from people in and around their organisation
  • Managerial experience in membership organisations or secretariats or other relevant environment
  • Experience in working as part of a team to deliver successful change in complex and dynamic environments
  • Involvement in strategic development, harnessing expertise of self and others to define strategic objectives
  • Track record for delivering against agreed operational plans and within a strategic framework
  • Experience preparing written and verbal briefings for a range of internal audiences
  • Experience working across multiple organisations
  • Working as an effective member of a diverse team

Salary: £66,274 to £73,496 a year inclusive of HCAS
