Job Title: Assistant Manager
Function/Department: Retail
Reporting To: Shop Manager
Location: Reddish/Edgeley
Role Purpose
You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop and managing the shop team effectively. The day‑to‑day role is to assist the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensuring high standards are maintained, accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service. The role encompasses opening and closing the business and, in the absence of the Shop Manager, managing the shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Shop Manager with day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
- In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead the operation of the shop, including opening and closing the shop, managing the shop team, cash management procedures, and using the Time and Attendance system.
- Lead by example and drive the team to maintain shop presentation standards.
- Be a clear communicator, encouraging team members to share ideas for continuous improvement.
- Stay focused on shop results, identifying opportunities to improve performance.
- Provide outstanding customer experience, educating and guiding the team on excellent customer service.
- Accept bets accurately through multiple channels, including betting terminals and EPOS transactions.
- Act as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey.
- Ensure the shop adheres to all operational and security procedures.
- Adhere to social responsibility duties.
