Role Overview
We are seeking an Urgent Care Assistant to support our service on a minimum hours contract at Keynsham.
Working Hours
Minimum 2 shifts per month with the option to work up to 37.5 hours per week on a 12‑month contract.
Key Responsibilities
Driving
- Drive clinicians to patients’ homes safely and legally.
- Perform basic vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift.
- Accurately record all medications and consumables used.
Reception
- First point of contact for patients or carers at treatment centres.
- Support clinicians during shifts.
- Communicate with patients in person and by telephone (comfort and welfare checks).
- Maintain a clean and tidy treatment centre.
Medication and Stock Management
- Use computer systems to maintain stock levels of medication and consumables.
- Replenish car stock at the end of each shift.
- Follow correct stock rotation and be aware of expiry dates.
Shift Patterns
- Monday – Friday 18:15/18:30 – 23:00 (Evenings)
- Monday – Friday 23:00 – 08:00 (Overnights)
- Saturday to Monday 08:00 – 20:00 (All day shifts)
Qualifications & Skills
- Full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
- Good driving experience and a clear driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and strong administrative ability.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and act professionally in emergencies.

Additional Information
Successful candidates will need an Enhanced DBS check, applied for by the employer upon confirmation of appointment. Sponsorship is not offered.
