At Hitachi Rail, we have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Driver Refueller to join our team in Bristol at Stoke Gifford Train Maintenance Centre.
Salary: £39,77215% Shift allowance£3,000 Location Allowance

Accountabilities
In this key role, you will be responsible for driving, servicing, and supporting the maintenance of our rolling stock to ensure trains are safe, reliable, and ready for service.
This is a permanent position working on a rotating night shift basis.
Your responsibilities will include
- Operating as directed by the Person in Charge (PIC) to safely undertake train movements within the Train Maintenance Centre
- Carrying out train servicing activities, including (but not limited to):
- Diesel and AdBlue replenishment
- Fresh water supply for toilet and galley systems
- Windscreen wash refilling
- Sand hopper replenishment
- Toilet servicing
- Accurately recording all servicing activities, materials, and fluids used within the Maintenance Management System (MMS)
- Monitoring SAP/MMS systems to ensure all maintenance activities are correctly logged
- Performing daily checks on servicing equipment and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
- Identifying and reporting defects, escalating to the Refuelling Team Leader or Duty Shift Manager as required
- Supporting maintenance teams with corrective and preventative maintenance, including fault finding and repairs
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the MMS system
- Ensuring all materials and fluids are correctly controlled, recorded, and processed
- Adhering to lean principles and best practices
- Supporting maintenance and cleaning teams to meet train availability targets
About you
Required Skills/ Knowledge
- Experience of supporting a maintenance team on a shift bases in a modern rolling stock maintenance depot environment or similar.
- Safety awareness gained in operational railway environments.
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- Good communication skills, ability to carry out clear instructions
- Experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and available trend analysis.
- Manual Handling, COSHH, working at height, Powered plant and tools – air / 110v experience.
Education/Qualifications
- A level of engineering background knowledge preferable
