Overview

Talbot House Children’s Charity is looking to recruit Specialist Support Assistants (SSAs) to work in our school. They will support SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment (some pupils may have multiple needs). The school is a Non‑Maintained Specialist School with pupils ranging from Reception to Key Stage 4 and class sizes rarely exceed six pupils.

Responsibilities

Assist pupils with complex needs, support staff, and contribute to a high‑quality learning environment.

Working Hours

Term time only – Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, or alternatively Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Total 39 hours per week, including paid lunch periods.

Salary

£26,321.82 per annum (paid 52 weeks, not pro‑rata).

Qualifications

Experience working with SEN pupils with complex needs (SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma and attachment). Ability to work with pupils with multiple needs. Experience in a specialist school environment is desirable.
