Location: Devon and Cornwall area
Salary: Scale F – Starts at £34,662 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £40,383 per annum (37 hours per week)

We are welcoming applications for the role of Driver Training Instructor with Dorset Police based at the following location(s): Other Flexible on location – either HQ Middlemoor, Bodmin or Plymouth (Devonport).
About the role
Successful applicants will be required to design and deliver driver training and development interventions to ensure that the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviour of police officers, staff and other members of the force meet the requirements of the force and our communities.
Desirable attributes and skills include previous emergency response driving experience or ADI qualifications.

Main Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of instruction to all levels of police driving courses, in accordance with the College of Policing syllabus and force policy.
- Preparation and instruction in various categories; potential for role to develop into specialist training courses.
- Complete all appropriate course administration.
- Ensure all police officers and staff receive correct training to raise their driving technique to meet force driving standards.
- Ensure all officers and staff drive vehicles to an approved standard.
- Ensure that all officers and staff meet the required standards in accordance with force policy and College Of Policing licensing.
- Test and assess students, deliver any skills coaching or development needed, and advise on training and development issues including internal departmental routes and external qualification routes.
- Ensure that students meet operational standards and can work accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain records for lesson plans, courses, correspondence, reference materials, course content, consistent with departmental requirements.
