About the role

Bring your creativity, energy and vision to a vibrant secondary school in Pudsey, where Art & Design is a valued and well‑supported part of the curriculum. This is an exciting full time opportunity from Easter 2026 until the end of the academic year, ideal for a teacher who can inspire students and make a real impact in a short time.

You’ll join a friendly, collaborative department with a strong track record of engaging learners through a broad and ambitious Art & Design curriculum. The role involves teaching across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that spark imagination, build technical skill and encourage students to express themselves confidently. You’ll have access to well‑equipped studios, supportive colleagues and a leadership team that champions creative subjects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Art & Design lessons that challenge, motivate and support students of all abilities.
  • Prepare KS4 learners for assessments, ensuring strong progress and a positive learning experience.
  • Create a classroom environment that celebrates creativity, experimentation and independent thinking.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, moderation and enrichment activities, including exhibitions or clubs.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and presentation of work.
  • Provide meaningful feedback that helps students grow artistically and academically.

Pre‑requisites

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching Art & Design up to KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of media, techniques and artistic processes.
  • A passion for nurturing creativity and building students’ confidence.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and classroom‑management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
