We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and passionate team at HMP Wayland as a Family Support Worker. This role requires you to support the families of those we support in our care.

Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of family members by completing a comprehensive assessment and, together with the family member, creating a SMART care plan.
- Facilitate family days for those you support.
- Deliver group interventions for the clients you work with.
- Work with clients to deliver tailored interventions around family relationships and relationship building.
- Deliver effective care‑planned support to offenders using appropriate models, interventions, and approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of the client group.
- Promote and develop the service.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00‑16:00 (37.5 hours per week).
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within rehabilitation, treatment, and re‑offending prevention services.
- Relevant experience in health and social care, ideally within problematic substance use, mental health, or a comparable field.
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of clients and the service.
- Evidence of managing a busy caseload or tasks with excellent organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and familiarity with database management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of complex issues presented by people entering custody.
- Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary of £26,298, potential rising to £28,000 in line with our yearly appraisal process.
